La Taberna del Gordo
About This Spot
Stepping into La Taberna del Gordo is like arriving at a welcoming crossroads between a bustling café, a hearty pub, and an unpretentious bar & grill that feels rooted in the everyday rhythms of Huesca. Nestled against the backdrop of the industrial zone, its energy strikes a balance—comfortably casual yet distinctly lively, where locals gather without hurry, and strangers quickly become familiar faces.
The atmosphere embraces a steady, unassuming pace, perfect for lingering over strong coffee in the morning or sharing a long meal as the afternoon unfolds. There’s a sense of sincerity here, where the clang of the kitchen and the murmur of conversations blend seamlessly, inviting you to be part of the scene rather than a mere visitor.
Menu offerings at La Taberna del Gordo mirror this spirit—unfussy and full of honest flavors that speak to tradition and the local palate. Whether you’re settling in with a plate of migas warmed by eggs or drawn by the rich aroma of grilled carnes, the dishes feel like extensions of local life, crafted with care and meant to be savored alongside a well-chosen glass of wine or a smooth coffee.
This is a place where simple pleasures—a hearty stew, a shared tapa, the slice of cheese atop homemade cheesecake—take center stage, each bite carrying a whisper of home. It’s no surprise that regulars find themselves returning time and again, drawn by both the food and the understated warmth that pulses quietly beneath the surface.
